Almost half of gas delivered by Gasprom to Chechnya disappears
During 9 months, 2013 payment for gas deliveries to Chechnya constituted only 47%. Gasprom’s corporate magazine reported that almost half of 3 billion cub.m. of gas transported by Gasprom to Chechnya disappears in the gas distribution networks and gas equipment.
Gasprom plans to reconstruction the gas supply system of the republic. It has started inventory of the networks to create the efficient model of gas supply.
The concern reported that on October 3, 2013 Gasprom chairman of Board Aleksei Miller met with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. Gasprom Chairman has instructed to draft the program of development of gas supply of Chechen Republic till 2020.
It has been earlier reported that population of the North Caucasian republics is not willing to pay for gas and power supply. For instance, population of the northwest of Russia pays for 99% of supplied gas, population of the Caucasus – pays only for 68% and Chechnya and Dagestan – only 42%. This non-payment is actually covered by the Russian population at the expense of the anticipatory growth of tariffs.—0---
