Azerbaijan Exports Cement Clinker for First Time
In the first half of this year Azerbaijan for the first time in the period of independence from 1991 exported cement clinker in the amount of 12,618.5 tons. This product was shipped to Georgia, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
Delivery of the production was carried out in the second quarter. A ton of clinker was sold at a price of $ 44.
It is noteworthy that in the first half of the year Azerbaijan purchased 146.8 thousand tons of cement raw materials priced at $ 18.46 per 1 ton in Iran. In the first half of 2014 cement clinker was purchased at the price of $ 45.4 / t.
In July this year, JSC Industrial-Construction Investment Corporation Accord reported that its subsidiary (Gazakh cement plant) began exporting products. According to the agreement 75,000 tons of cement will be sold abroad.
According to the State Customs Committee, in January-June 2015 Azerbaijan also imported 185.6 thousand tons of finished cement. This is 57.4% less than in the comparable period of 2014 (435,351 tons). This year cement was supplied from Russia (124.1 thousand tons), Iran (58 thousand tons) and Turkey (2,300 tons). -----08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
