Eleven million tons of cargo is carried along the corridor TRACECA
Over three quarters of 2013 transit cargo transportation in Azerbaijan section of the Corridor TransEvropa -Caucasus- Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 11 million tons. This is by 6.2 % less than in the corresponding period last year.
The State Statistical Committee (SSC) does not register goods in transit by commodity nomenclature.
The SSC told Turan, that income from transit is 107.4 million manat, which is by 7.3% less than in the comparable period last year.
Interregional TRACECA technical assistance program was initiated in May 1993 to develop a transport corridor from Europe through the Black Sea, the Caucasus , the Caspian Sea with access to the Central Asian countries. The countries which join the project apply reduced rates for carriages. --08D—
