EU to Help Azerbaijan with Digital Markets
The markets of electronic services of Azerbaijan and the European Union will be unified.
The other day the Declaration has been agreed on the harmonization of the digital markets of the EU and member countries of the European Union's Eastern Partnership. The document, which had been previously considered by the Azerbaijani side, was approved in mid-year in Luxembourg at a meeting of representatives of ministries of the participating countries of the EU Eastern Partnership responsible for the digital economy.
By the end of the year the main projects to be funded in 2016-2017 under the HDM Initiative will be determined. Azerbaijan has prepared six project proposals in accordance with the HDM Initiative, which are presented to the European Commission.
In the future, the local market will be introduced projects prepared in several ways by the HDM Initiative - e-customs, e-commerce, e-business, and e-security. The concept proposals will be submitted to an international commission until 15 September. The selection of projects will be completed before 15 October.
The initiative envisages the creation of a single digital space, the digital market on a broad level that entrepreneurs can have a single numeric field for trading and settlement. The HDM Initiative aims to address 14 important issues, including: the creation of the legislative base, the improvement of customs procedures, the introduction of software for trading, and so on. --17D-

Azerbaijan’s industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs reported a modest 1.1% year-on-year increase in industrial production during 2024, reaching an output valued at 64.1 billion manat.
