FAO Appointed Its Representative in Baku
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) appointed its representative in Azerbaijan, Mr. Mustafa Imiri, a senior official, a Turkish citizen. It is reported by FAO.
For the past four years, Imiri worked as a representative of FAO in Indonesia. Prior to joining FAO in 2011, he worked in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and was responsible for international relations, and in particular with the European Union.
Imiri received his doctorate in veterinary medicine and has knowledge of a wide range of issues in the field of agriculture and veterinary medicine. He took part in the negotiations of the World Trade Organization on agrarian issues in Doha.
"I'm ready to apply my experience and knowledge in Azerbaijan, which has achieved success in the field of agriculture and resources, and has great potential," said Imiri.
Imiri will take the office in the near future.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the FAO since 1995 and has received mostly technical assistance in the development of ecological agriculture, improving locust control, food security, development of seed production, improving rural livelihoods and protecting the health of livestock. The two latter areas are objects of his specialization. -0-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
