Internet in Azerbaijan Still Weak
Azerbaijan in the ranking of traffic NetIndex of the company Ookla as of Monday, September 17, is the 106th in the world. It is two steps above the position of the previous week. According to the index of quality internet country is not included in the required 54 positions.
The largest number of users is in Baku; the speed increased from 3.44 to 3.51 Mbit / s here.
The optimum speed of incoming traffic in Azerbaijan is 3.55 (1) Mbit / s, the official portal of the structure (http://www.netindex.com/download/2, 110/Azerbaijan). For comparison, in Georgia, the figure is 11.89, in Armenia - 6.4 Mbit / s.
In Baku, the rate is 3.51 Mbit / s, in Masazir - 3.15 in Sumgayit - 2.66 Mb / s. Among the areas on the map, you can find Jalilabad and Goychay - 2.68 and 2.40 Mbit / s.
Chosen for the experiment 287,955 unique IP-addresses. The study is based on the statistics of 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators, mainly "fixated" on Baku. In the first place Eurosel LLC - 6,08 Mbit / s. On the following "bonus" of places marked Az.StarNet LLC and SOL, in which, respectively, 5.29 and 4.64 Mbit / s.
Aztelekom with 2.71 Mbit/s is in the 16th place, Azertelekom provides 2.37 Mbit / s, TransEuroCom LLC - 2.28 Mbit / s and Baktelekom - 2.24 Mbit / s .
Among mobile operators the incoming traffic of Azercell Telecom LLC marked with 3.56 Mbit / s.
The rating for the outgoing traffic (the best - 1.40 Mb / s) are also presented statistics 20 local Internet service providers and telecom operators. In their networks during the trial period the maximum speed of outgoing traffic was fixed at 3.41 Mbit / s (net AG TELECOM), and the minimum rate - 0.46 Mb / s (Azerbaijan Data Network). - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
