Juice Production Decreased by 14%
In the first half of 2016 Azerbaijan produced 799.7 thousand deciliters (dl 1 - 10 L) of fruit and vegetable juices. Compared to the same period of 2015 the production of juices decreased by 14%, Turan was told in the department of industry and construction at the State Statistics Committee.
During this period, the production of pomegranate juice was 90.6 thousand dl, 86,300 dl less. The volume of production of fruit concentrates declined from 515.2 thousand to 339.7 thousand dl.
According to the food balance, in 2015 Azerbaijan consumed 21.1 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable juices. This was 5,000 tons less than the previous year.
Last year, exports of juices under the brand Made in Azerbaijan were reduced by 20%. Manufacturers sold abroad 6,727 tons of juice, while in 2010 the figure was 18,740 tons.
In 2015, the legal scope of the production of beverages (20.7 thousand tons) decreased by 30%. The volume of imports of juices is also reduced. The import of 4,162 tons of juice was declared, 1,004 tons less than in 2014. The process of reducing the volume of imports has been observed since 2010. In that year, importers brought about 10.3 thousand tons of juice to Azerbaijan. ----08B
