Launched Project to Develop Journalism under Auspices of PASHA Bank and the British Council
In collaboration with the British Council, one of the largest banks in Azerbaijan - Pasha Bank announced the launch of the next phase of the program to develop the domestic journalism. The project aims to strengthen the professional capabilities and skills of the local media, primarily covering the topics of economic nature.
As noted in his welcoming speech to the participants of the project, Chairman of Bank Farid Akhundov such events are an important part of social responsibility PASHA Bank. "In keeping with the policy of transparency and openness of the business community, we, as the Bank, are interested in the Azerbaijani journalists covering economic issues, had the highest level of knowledge and have access to the direct exchange of experiences with their foreign counterparts. In this aspect of the program, implemented by PASHA Bank together with our partners from the British Council, is a great tool to achieve these goals. I am confident that the results will be as successful as last year's results of the project on the development of Azerbaijani business journalism," Akhundov said.
The training program consists of a number of special media courses under the guidance of professional training of teachers from abroad and journalists' tours of local media in the UK, in which the scheduled meetings and exchange of employees of the Azerbaijani mass media journalists of leading newspapers, magazines and other media of this country.
The main goal of the project is to create a core group of journalists covering the economic issues that are acquainted with many years of experience of European colleagues, can use their skills in a more professional information and analysis of events in the country and the economic transformation of various business processes.
According to the collective decision to participate in the project PASHA Bank and the British Council have selected 11 journalists from leading print and electronic media, as well as radio and television, Azertaj, ANS TV, Radio Azadlig, Echo, 1 News, AzTV, ITV, Turan, Ann, Trend, and Caspian. -15D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
