New Equipment Purchased for Desalination of Sea Water
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is expanding work on desalination of seawater. For this purpose, they have purchased equipment for desalination of 1,000 cubic meters of seawater per day.
According to the State Procurement Agency, Gardening and Landscaping of Azerbaijan JSC at the Ministry of Environment has signed two contracts for the purchase of equipment and the implementation of construction works with two companies. Ltd. Star-Techizat will supply the necessary equipment for the sum of 863.4 thousand AZN and Ilkin-N will perform construction and installation works, which were estimated by the parties in the amount of 417.3 thousand manats.
The timing of the work is not reported.
Recall that in September 2013, a complex was put into operation on the shores of the Caspian Sea, in the village Khidirli of the Salyan district, which includes a plant for desalination of seawater and a nursery for growing seedlings.
The company daily produces 1,000 cubic meters of desalinated water, which is used to irrigate the nursery within the enterprise and trees planted near the village of Khidirli. If necessary, the water may be used as drinking water. --08B-
