According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of agricultural production in the country by July 1 totaled 2 billion 648.6 million manats (+ 7.3% for the 6 months of last year).
Most impressive was increase in crop production - 14%. As of June 24, the area planted with spring crops totaled 362,100 ha. There was collected 382.9 thousand tons of vegetables (+ 10.7%), 288,700 tons of potatoes (+ 11.8%), 93,100 tons of fruits and berries (+ 2.6%), 273.4 tons of green tea (+ 18.7%), and 76.5 tons of tobacco leaves (+ 30.5%). By July 1, there was harvested 2.1 million tons of grain, including maize (+ 18%).
Much more modest were the affairs in livestock (+ 2.6%). By July 1, there was produced 225,100 tons of meat (+ 2%), 963,700 tons of milk (+ 3.7%), 779 400 000 eggs (+ 1.4%), and 15,300 tons of wool (+ 2.1%). --17D-
