The second stage of creation of a strategic road map of the national economy and its main sectors has started in Azerbaijan, Elhan Mikailov, representative of the presidential administration, said at the public discussions “Industrialization and Innovative Development.”
He said the strategic road map focuses on the industrial development.
“In particular, three main sectors of the industry have been selected: oil, gas and chemical industries as well as heavy industry and machine building,” Mikailov said.
The said that there are still some problems in this sector, despite serious measures taken for industrial development.
The problems are related to competitiveness of the products manufactured in the country and the fact that majority of the products manufactured in the country do not comply with the international standards. He believes that the third problem is the need to develop corporate management, which will help to bring more foreign investments into the country.
