Production started to grow on azeri-chirag-guneshli field
BP-Azerbaijan company, operator of development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) offshore bloc located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, 100 km away from Baku, gradually increased production on ACG contract area.
A source from BP-Azerbaijan told Turan that at present daily production on the contract area is 705,000 barrels.
According to the last report of BP-Azerbaijan, by mid-2012 in average 684,000 barrels of oil a day was extracted from 56 operation wells (and 30 technical wells) on the contract area ACG. Sources from State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Turan that in mid-September 2012 oil production on ACG dropped to almost 660,000 barrels a day.
This means that during a short period the international consortium managed to increase production by almost 45,000 barrels or 6.8%.
At the governmental session on October 11, 2012 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev strongly criticized activities of the ACG operator - BP company - for reduction of production on the contract area. After that SOCAR and BP had negotiations in London and three BP Vice Presidents visited Baku. BP-Azerbaijan Vice President for Wells was replaced and 10 best BP specialists from various regions were invited to Baku and SOCAR and BP have agreed to establish a new type of cooperation within the framework of the consortium.-0---
