Record Number of Government Bonds in Azerbaijan
At the March 1 Baku Stock Exchange auction on placement of short-term bonds (91-day), the supply exceeded the demand by 2.5 times and amounted to 39 million 745.5 million manats on par value.
As Turan was told in the BSE, 6 investors filed 11 applications in the range of 17.76% and 9.89% yield. According to the results of the auction, transactions were concluded for the price 96.934 manats (yield - 17.764% per annum) and the weighted average price of 96.033 manats (yield - 16.611%).
Bonds worth 15 million manats were sold. The nominal value of one security is 100 manats.
Note that in the previous auction of manat bonds the average weighted yield of T-bills amounted to an annual 8.79%. Thus, the Ministry of Finance doubled the yield of its securities this month.
This year, the Ministry of Finance plans to place bonds worth 400 million AZN and $ 500 million. ---- 08D
