Russia among world leaders in almost all energy directions
Russia is among the main manufacturers and exporters of energy resources and its economy depends on the fuel export abroad, reported the US Energy Department.
“In 2012 52% of revenues of the Russian budget and 70% of total export fell to oil and gas,” reads the document.
“Last year Russia was the third oil maker (after Saudi Arabia and US) and the second natural gas supplier after the US. Russia occupies the third place among the main makers of atomic power and the fourth place on the capacities in this direction.
According to the Ministry of Energy, “in 2013 Russia’s explored oil resources totaled 80 billion barrels, majority of which is located on the west of Siberia. According to these estimates, in 2012 Russia extracted 10.4 million barrels of oil a day and exported over 7 million barrels.
Russia’s gas resources are estimated at over 47.8 billion cub.m., which is almost one fourth of the world volume. “Majority of these resources are located in Siberia and 40% falls to Medvezhye field in Yamalo-Nenenzk Autonomous District,” reads the report.
