Securities market rose by government securities
In 2012, the securities market in Azerbaijan amounted to 9.4 bn AZN. This is 6% more than the year before. The growth of the market was provided by government debt securities.
At a January 25 meeting of the Board of the State Securities Committee, it was noted that the market for government securities has increased compared to 2011 by 20%, while the corporate market decreased by 38%. Transactions with government securities amounted to 8,093 million manat. About 85% of the operations (6.85 bn AZN) accounted for transactions and repurchase and reverse repurchase notes Central Bank, through which, and provide for the growth of the market.
The volume of transactions in Treasury bonds was 167.4 million manat. This is 40% less than in 2011.
It is noteworthy that the activity of investors in the government securities market in the past year has decreased. If in 2011 these shares had been committed in 1,768 transactions, in 2012 the number had fallen to 1,307.
According to experts, the market for securities in Azerbaijan is experiencing a period of low liquidity and lack of financial instruments. This leads to the superiority of the government securities over the corporate market. Meanwhile SCS is unable to cope with the problem of an increase in supply in the market. - 08D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
