Since 2013 Caspian sea to become cleaner - SOCAR fully suspends emission of stratal waters
SOCAR plans to reduce to nothing emission of strata waters from its own oil fields into the Caspian Sea since next year, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists.
He said during the Soviet time 7,000-8,000 tons of stratal waters a day were emitted from Bibi-Eibat Oil production company into the water. "The oil extraction continues, but the strata waters are not emitted into the sea, they are repeatedly injected into the beds," Abdullayev said.
He said the similar works are carried out on other SOCAR's oil production departments - Surakhanyneft and Balakhanyneft. The process is coming to the end on Balakhanyneft to reduce to nothing emission of strata waters since next year.
SOCAR President said that the company has invested a great amount of money into installation of new cleaning facilities on the territory of the oil refineries to reduce to minimum emission of strata waters into the sea from these plants.-0---

In recent days, there have been claims that bread prices in Azerbaijan have risen. Social media users report that the price of bread has increased by 5-10 qepiks. According to consumer complaints, it is difficult to find weight information on factory-produced bread, commonly known as "zavod çörəyi" in Azerbaijan. In many cases, bread packaging does not include weight details. Similarly, bread sold at smaller bakeries and tandir houses often lacks information apart from the price.
