Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan grew by 39% in 2022
Baku/07.02.23/Turan: The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in January-December 2022 amounted to $461.9 million, which was 39 % higher than during the same period of the previous year ($332.2 million), according to the report of MIA Kazinform own correspondent.
At that, if export from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan in January-December 2022 grew by nearly 30% ($375.3 million), imports from the South Caucasus country totaled $86.6 million, an increase of nearly 95%, which clearly shows the improvement of the trade balance between the countries.
Notye that exports to Azerbaijan grew at the expense of rise in deliveries of crude oil (by 74.9 million dollars), wheat (3.7 times or by 69.9 million dollars), oil products (3.1 times or by 56.8 million dollars) and other goods while supplies of floating means of special purpose decreased by 92.7% (by 120.7 million dollars) and railway electric locomotives - by 60.8% or by 21.6 million dollars.
Meanwhile the growth of imports from Azerbaijan is based on the increase of such goods as sugar (increase by 147.2 times or $13.6 million), special purpose floating crafts (increase by 6.3 times or $11.4 million), cruise excursion ships, ferries and other passenger carrying means (increase by $8.4 million), ferrous pipes (increase by $7.7 million).
However, less propylene polymers (down 35.4%, or $5.4 million), ethylene polymers (down 54.3%, or $3.6 million), nuts (down 29.6%, or $1.1 million) were imported from the country last year, while the surveying or topographic equipment and tools stopped being imported into our country.
In August, Kazakhstani President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid an official visit to Azerbaijan. As a result of the talks, the parties signed several significant economic documents, and also agreed to raise mutual trade between the countries to one billion dollars a year in the nearest future.-0-
