A fire erupted in a multi-story residential building in Khirdalan, Absheron district, prompting an immediate response from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (FHN), authorities said on Saturday.
According to the ministry’s press service, the fire broke out in an apartment on the tenth floor of a 13-story residential building. Emergency responders from the State Fire Protection Service and the Special Risk Rescue Service were swiftly deployed to the scene.
The fire was contained before it could spread to other apartments, officials said. The blaze partially destroyed the flammable structures and household items within the 35-square-meter, one-room apartment.
As a precaution, 10 residents, including two children, were evacuated. No injuries or casualties were reported.
Authorities confirmed that other apartments in the building were safeguarded from the fire. An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
