Azerbaijan has imposed a ban on the entry of State Duma Deputy Valuyev
The Deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Nikolai Valuyev, has been banned from entering Azerbaijan due to offensive statements made about the country, a comment by the official spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ayhan Hajiyev. "Due to the anti-Azerbaijani position of this deputy, his name has been included in the list of individuals banned from entering Azerbaijan," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative.
This is not the first case of Russian State Duma deputies being added to the list of undesirable persons, he reminded. Previously, the first deputy chairman of the CIS Affairs Committee of the State Duma, Konstantin Zatulin, and the deputy chairman of the Committee for Family Protection, Vitaly Milonov, were also added to the blacklist. "All these deputies are members of the ruling party, United Russia," Hajiyev stated.
Earlier, Valuyev expressed dissatisfaction with the decision of the Azerbaijani authorities to close the “Russian House” in the country, stating that "Moscow's response to such actions should be similar." In his view, retaliatory measures should target diaspora organizations of Azerbaijanis.
He emphasized that the situation should be handled calmly, with political and internal state support, without insults and shouting, and the "entire group" should be driven out "through the sieve of the law," he stated on his Telegram channel.
