WB to Provide Technical Assistance to Azerbaijan to Ensure Macroeconomic Stability
The Chairman of Board of Directors of the Financial Markets Supervision House (FMSH) Rufat Aslanli received on November 12 the WB mission of technical assistance in macroeconomic affairs led by Naoko Kojo.
As the FMSH press service said, during the meeting the sides exchanged views on the macroeconomic situation and prospects, and discussed the main trends of the economy of Azerbaijan.
WB provides technical assistance to Azerbaijan to ensure macroeconomic stability, the report underlines.
Before that Aslanli discussed with representatives of the World Bank the details of technical assistance to ensure financial stability.
In connection with the devaluation of the manat since the beginning of 2015 the macroeconomic situation in the country has worsened. Production of GDP and indicators of the state budget decreased. There is a negative trend in the labor market. Due to the sudden insolvency several banks and insurance companies closed.
Azerbaijan appeals to international financial institutions to provide technical assistance for the implementation of economic reforms. ---08D
