General and Two Colonels of Defense Ministry Arrested in Armenia
Yerevan / 31.05.16 / Turan- ArmInfo: On May 30, late in the evening, General Mels Chilingaryan and Colonels Armen Markaryan and Mher Papyan were arrested. The spokeswoman for the Investigative Committee of Armenia Sona Truzyan wrote this on her Facebook page.
The detentions took place in two criminal cases on the admission of low-quality goods and procurement at inflated prices. Note that Mels Chilingaryan was removed from the post of Chief of the RA Armed Forces Arms Control Department on May 23.
Previously arrested was the Chief the Automotive Service of the Armament Department of the Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel David Abrahamian, who is charged with abuse, which caused serious consequences.
Note that all these cases were the result of the April war, when Armenian troops at the front were left without fuel, communications equipment and ammunition. -02D-
