In March, Food Prices Increased by 1.29%

In March, in Baku the average prices of the consumer basket on 30 kinds of basic food products of domestic production, compiled by the agency Turan, increased by 1.29%.

In February, there was an increase of 0.9%. In January, after the second wave of devaluation of the manat, there was a decrease of 6.4%.

A marked rise was in cabbages (+ 55%), eggs (+ 44%), flour (44%), onions (+ 21%), tomatoes (+ 17.6%), sugar (+ 11.2%), apples (+ 6.2%), and chicken (+ 3.5%).

Prices decreased for cucumbers (-24.6%), potatoes (-5.8%), milk (-4.8%), and yogurt (-3.4%).

On other products prices generally remained stable.

In April, prices are expected to stabilize due to the start of the local season for vegetables and growth of their role in the diet.  –0--
