Armenian President Urges CSTO to Support Yerevan

Yesterday Moscow hosted a meeting of the CSTO - Collective Security Treaty Organization, where the presidency was transferred to Armenia. Speaking at the meeting, the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan criticized the CSTO member countries for explicit or implicit support of Azerbaijan.

Of course, each country has its own interests and priorities, but this fact should not be opposed to the common interests and mutual obligations of the countries - members of the organization. "Every time the Azerbaijani armed forces use small arms of all calibers, mortars and artillery against Armenia, they shoot at Astana, Dushanbe, Bishkek, Moscow and Minsk.

Let me remind you that we have the relevant article of the Charter. And if we do not use this article, do not discuss the situation, do not consider it necessary to pick up the phone and ask what's going on in allied Armenia, and if we moreover vote against the interests of an ally in international organizations, and accept bilateral declarations with third countries, the texts of which are directed against the CSTO allies, we simply put the entire Organization, its prestige and importance under these shots," said Sargsyan.

Recall that the CSTO comprises Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. -02D-
