Azerbaijan and Qatar Create Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation

Azerbaijan and Qatar agreed to establish an intergovernmental commission on cooperation in trade, economic and technical fields.

"The Agreement to establish a joint economic, commercial and technical commission between the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar" was signed in Baku on March 8 after the negotiations of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The parties also signed seven documents. They include "The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the General Directorate of Customs of Qatar in the field of vocational training and skills development"; "The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar in the field of transport"; "The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Finance of Qatar on cooperation in matters of budget and finance"; "The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar in the field of agriculture"; "The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar in the field of education, higher education and scientific research"; "The Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice of Qatar in the legal field" and "The Protocol amending the Agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar on the abolition of visa requirements for persons with diplomatic and special passports."     -0-
