Azerbaijan Has Not Decided Whether to Invite Observers to Elections - Mamedyarov
Does Azerbaijan intend to invite Russian observers to the parliamentary elections in November 2015?
Answering this question of the TV channel Russia-24, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said this issue is not addressed now. At the same time, he acknowledged the proposal made by the Head of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin to send observers from the Russian Federation for these elections.
"I do not know, let's see, the election is still far away, we'll see how we act in relation to observers," said Mammadyarov.
He further indicated that the monitoring of elections by foreign observers makes Baku nervous and is a headache form it.
"Unfortunately, some of the standards that are applied by certain international organizations divide the states into" good "and" bad," said the minister.
Critics of Azerbaijan "seek out ridiculous reasons," as is the case with 12 voting ballots thrown by one voter into the box.
"But here it is not criticism, but the system itself, which has developed since 1990 in the context of democratic change. It fails, because there are certain states which are considered to be almost untouchable. They act as they want, but there are other countries, which can be criticized, as you please. Therefore it is necessary to consider the system itself, how effective it is," said the minister. -02D-

The United States and the European Union, which tried to position themselves as mediators in the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, have come up with nothing and merely copied Russia's ideas, distorting their essence in order to "hijack" the peace process for themselves. However, their true goal was to take control of the region, to insert themselves into it, and to push out Russia, as well as Iran and Türkiye, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on November 13.
