Azerbaijan will become a member of the Anti-Corruption Academy
During a visit to Austria, the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, agreed to participate in the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in the Austrian city of Luxembourg, the press service of the President, Heinz Fischer.
International Anti-Corruption Academy was founded in 2010 on the initiative of the Austrian Government and the Agency of the European Union to fight against fraud.
Among the founders of the Academy there are 51 countries and two international organizations.
Russia was the first country which ratified the agreement on the establishment of the Academy.
At present, the Academy has a total of 61 members.
IACA has observer status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO.)
Azerbaijan is on one of the leading positions in the international rating list of corrupt countries - 134th, and the family of the head of Azerbaijan is involved in controversial investigations on offshore zones.—0—

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
