Erdogan Introduces State of Emergency in Name of Democracy
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the introduction of a state of emergency for three months. This decision was taken for the speedy removal of all consequences of the military coup attempt. Erdogan said this after the Security Council and the Cabinet.
“This step is not in any way directed against democracy, rights and freedoms On the contrary, its purpose is to protect and promote these values,” he said.
“The purpose of the state of emergency is in the implementation of active and swift action to address threats to democracy, the rule of law, human rights and freedoms of our citizens,” he said. What measures the state of emergency will presume he did not specify.
As a result of fire opened by participants of the coup attempt, according to recent data, 246 people were killed and 1,536 people were injured, including civilians, police and military.
After the suppression of the military coup, Erdogan began a purge that has affected nearly 43 thousand education workers, 9,298 policemen and 6,361 military men. Most of the soldiers have been arrested and university teachers have been banned from leaving the country. -02D-

Armenia is not against the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, but does not consider it appropriate to discuss this issue now. On August 30, at approximately 22:55, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant in Metsamor was disconnected from the country's power grid, as reported by the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. The shutdown was caused by a lightning strike, which triggered the plant's safety systems to switch the station to a safe shutdown mode.
