The head of the party Musavat Arif Hajili has initiated resuscitation activities of the regional organization GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) with the inclusion of Turkey, as a neighbor and a natural ally of the four former Soviet republics.
The Ukrainian TV channel 24 TV reports that the head of Musavat supports Turkey's decisive action to prevent the hegemony of the Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance in the region and prevent threats to the Black Sea-Caspian Basin.
GUAM, in which Turkey and Latvia are observers, has recently stepped up its activities
In November, the 13th meeting of the Working Group on Emergency Situations of GUAM was held, as well as the 36th meeting of the GUAM Council of National Coordinators (CNC).
Participants of the meeting heard the results of stakeholder consultations on the organization for promotion of the draft resolution "Protracted conflicts in the GUAM area and their implications for international peace, security and development" in the current session of the UN General Assembly.
In November, the conference GUAM-Transit-2 was devoted to the Trans-Caspian international transport routes.
On December 11-12 a plenary session is scheduled for the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly.
* GUAM as the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development was established in 1997 (the Charter of the Organization was signed in 2001, and the Regulations - in 2006).
The Kremlin considers GUAM as a hostile organization for Russia and believes that this alliance was formed on the initiative of the United States as a counterweight to the CIS. -0-
