Ilham Aliyev Congratulates Nation on Occasion of Liberation of Aghdam
Baku / 20.11.20 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev made a televised address to the people on the occasion of the liberation of Aghdam from occupation.
“I cordially congratulate all Aghdam residents. Dear people of Aghdam, you are no longer refugees. You will return to the native lands of your ancestors,” the President noted.
According to him, "now a new period begins for Aghdam, and we have big plans."
He noted that Aghdam, like other liberated regions during the Armenian occupation, was completely destroyed.
However, all destroyed cities and districts will be restored completely and the population will be returned to their native places.
“The Aghdam region will take a big place in our future plans, since it is the largest region both in terms of territory and population,” Aliyev said.
He said that the restoration work has already begun, and initially 50 million manats were allocated for the construction of the Fizuli-Shusha highway.
The future route is divided into several sections and at the same time the road will be built by several companies in order to complete the project as soon as possible.
According to Aliyev, in the future, after a certain time, the Aghdam-Khankendi road will also open.
“I believe that the opening of communications, including between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the main part of Azerbaijan, in the future will contribute to long-term peace in the region,” Aliyev said. —06D-
