Ilham Aliyev: We are ahead of a number of developed countries
President Ilham Aliyev, speaking Monday at a conference on the results of the state program of socio-economic development of Baku, made ??some interesting statements.
"Our economy has grown by more than 300% - 3.4 times. Dramatically reduced the number of people living in poverty. Currently, the level of poverty in Azerbaijan is slightly more than 5%. That is, at the level of developed countries. We are even ahead of some developed countries," he said.
" Unemployment is at a level of 5 %, and in Baku, in my opinion, this question has completely found its solution," said Aliyev.
"Today Azerbaijan is recognized in the international community as a country enjoying great respect. This year we are completing the activity in the UN Security Council . I believe that this is the result of a very large, historic victory for our nation and state. Election to the UN Security Council, which is Structure Number One in the global community, is a historic victory for our country.
That is, if you look at any industry , you can be sure that we have ensured the successful development of Azerbaijan. The economic crisis experienced in the world and Europe, which caused political infighting in several cases, has not affected and will not affect us. Since the foundation of our policy is based on national interests. Unity of the people and the government is one of the factors contributing to our development. We are on our way. This is the path of development, democracy, and national harmony," said Aliyev.
As for the prospects of development of the capital, he said the Seaside Boulevard will be expanded only due to public facilities.
He also criticized officials who build commercial housing everywhere.
Without naming names, he accused officials of an effort to capture territory and build it up. His words turned out that the construction of housing in the city center will be radically limited and it will be carried out mainly on the outskirts. "Let businessmen agree with the people, from whom they buy housing, and then build what they want in the place," he said.
Speaking about the development of the capital, Aliyev said that it is necessary to raise the level of villages around the capital to the level of Baku City, where, according to Aliyev, there are no problems with electricity or gasification, but the question remains with the heating system, which is outdated. -02D-
