The Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety sent a message to the French President on the eve of his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan. The appeal expresses a request to raise the issue of human rights violations in Azerbaijan and, in particular, the arrest and sentence to blogger Mehman Huseynov, as well as the issue of 150 political prisoners in Azerbaijan, before Ilham Aliyev. On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
