Koray Targay not responded to the criticism of Rasul Guliyev
"We are closely monitoring the press. We believe that everyone is free to express his opinion," Turan was told by the Baku Office of the OSCE, asked to comment on allegations from the leader of the Open Society Party Rasul Guliyev on the corrupt head of the OSCE Baku Office Koray Targay.
The cause of the criticism was Targay's radio interview for Azadlig (Liberty), where he said that in Azerbaijan there is progress in all spheres.
"If we compare the situation of human rights with that 20 years ago, you can see the difference. We have the rule of law, there is progress in democratization. The country has made great strides in the field of environmental protection. I think it is unfair to put Azerbaijan in the lowest places in the area of ??human rights and democratization," said Targay.
He called the government's fighting corruption the evidence of political will and agreed with the actions of the police against protesters.
Meanwhile, the organization he represents, as well as the CE and the European Parliament have consistently confirmed that Azerbaijan violates human rights. -03B04-
