Moscow tries to prevent the extradition of Lapshin to Azerbaijan
Moscow opposes extradition of the blogger Alexander Lapshin to Azerbaijan , insisting on the inadmissibility of extradition of Russian citizens to third countries, said on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. "We consistently insist that the extradition of Russian citizens to third countries is unacceptable, and in order to bring our position on this issue, we provide intensive contacts with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the competent authorities of that country," she said at a briefing on Friday.
In mid-December 2016 Lapshin wrote that he was detained in Minsk at the request of Azerbaijan, where he was included in the "black list" for a visiting Karabakh without the consent of Baku. Such persons are denied entry to Azerbaijan. However, in June 2015, Lapshin entered Azerbaijan through Georgia with the Ukrainian passport. After that Azerbaijan has announced a blogger in the international search for the violation of the law "On State Border" and immigration Code. -02D-
