Novruz Mamedov did not read carefully the interview with its president?

The high-ranking government officials occasionally surprise the public  with their incompetence and contradictory statements. Today the deputy head of the Presidential Administration Novruz Mammadov, responsible for the international relations, has decided that he must  comment on the interview of US Ambassador to OSCE Daniel Baier.

Previously  Bayer denied allegations by President Ilham Aliyev,  that just  Bayer and the United States insisted on the dismissal of the head of the OSCE mission in Baku Alex  Sakhtakhtinsky.

"These accusations are unfounded. Unfortunately, the discontinuation of the OSCE Office in Baku took place at the request of the Government of Azerbaijan. This is a loss for both the government and the people of Azerbaijan," said Bayer.

Bayer described as "ridiculous" the assertion that pressure was put on the French government for the removal of Alexis Shakhtakhtinsky from the post of the head of the OSCE Baku Office.

"It is not true. French Foreign Ministry itself  makes decisions about its personnel  structure without consultations with Daniel Baier. The truth is that the US and other delegations support the Heads of Mission, who maintain contacts not only with the authorities, but also with civil society," said Bayer.

After this refutation Novruz Mammadov, apparently, decided to "clarify" the situation  and condemned  Baer   for a lie. So in his microblog on Twitter, Novruz Mammadov on October 4 he wrote: "From the interview Bayer  it is clear that he behaves like the First OSCE Secretary (as in Soviet times.)

He should know that the President did not speak about it, and will not speak. The President spoke about the US Ambassador to the OSCE," wrote Mammadov.

From the above it is clear that Mammadov does not know how the name  the surname of the  US Ambassador to the OSCE. Rather, he thinks that it is not Bayer.  It is hard to say on what information  Mammadov’s words are based, but if he just looked at the transcript again Aliyev's statements, he would not have made such mistakes.
