Rahim Hajiyev: "Azadliq" newspaper is on the verge of stopping
The leading opposition newspaper of the country "Azadlig" can stop its activity, if it does not pay debts to the publishing house "Azerbaijan", said Turan editor Rahim Hajiyev. According to him, the duty of the newspaper for publishing expenses equal to 14,000 manat and 11,000 manat newspaper to utility costs.
According to the editor, the main cause of the situation - not paid by "Gasid" funds for the sale of newspapers. This debt is 28,000 manat. Repeated negotiations with representatives of the company were unsuccessful. "They say to us that most of the stalls of the firm have been demolished, and the financial position of the company is critical. Therefore, we cannot pay the funds," said the editor.
According to Rahim Hajiyev, press distribution system in the country has been virtually destroyed. New "Media kiosks" are not interested in selling newspapers.
According to him, this situation is a result of government policies that prohibit the sale of street newspapers, citing it by the fact that the street vendors impede traffic.
The system of press distribution is disabled deliberately. Advertising is allowed to newspapers, circulation, and marketability is significantly lower, than the "Azadlig".
The paper is held with the sales, and now due to current problems "Azadlig" is in an impossible situation, Hajiyev said. -05B04-
