The leaders of "Musavat" summoned to the Attorney General
The head of the National Center for Strategic Thought, Isa Gambar, the leader of the party "Musavat" Arif Hajili and chief of staff of the party Gulaga Aslanli have been summoned to the Investigation Department for Serious Crimes Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan at 10:30 on 27 February, Turan was told by the head of "Musavat" Arif Hajili. According to him, they will be interrogated as witnesses in the criminal case against Azerbaijani political emigrants.
"The attacks of the authorities on the "Musavat" party has recently intensified. The growth of the authority of the party, principled and unequivocal position on all key issues, as well as actions of protest of Musavat members in Europe concern the authorities. Therefore, by such type of pressures they want to make the "Musavat" to abandon its principles, but in vain. After the rally in Europe was to exert pressure on the family members of the participants of the action and Musavat members who participated in the actions. I believe that the summon to the prosecutor's office is a continuation of the pressure," said Hajili.
In turn, Isa Gambar noted with irony that the summon to the prosecutor is a "gift" to birthday. "Apparently our principled unequivocal position on the last appointment the head of state (referring to the appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President) deeply concerned the authorities. The position of "Musavat", thoughts voiced at meetings and conferences, is a serious concern of the authorities. And from this point of view a challenge to the prosecution is an attempt to put pressure on us," said Gambar. -03 / 16A-
