The meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iranian State Commission
Baku / 14.03.18 / Turan: Approximately 150 documents have been signed over the past 4 years between Azerbaijan and Iran, were told at the 12th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iranian State Commission, held in Tehran. The Azerbaijani Minister of Economy, Shahin Mustafayev, said that in 2017 the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 16%, and the number of Iranian companies exceeded 700. According to the minister, Iran's investments in Azerbaijan exceeded 3.1 billion dollars, reads the report of the Ministry of Economy.
Sh. Mustafayev spoke about joint projects with Iran in the oil and gas field, transport and electricity. Touching on tourism, the minister noted that the number of Iranian tourists in Azerbaijan in 2016 was 247.000, last year this figure exceeded 363 thousand people.
As for the prospects for expanding cooperation, Shahin Mustafayev noted the great opportunities of agriculture, industry, trade, transport, tourism, healthcare, banking. The Minister said about the possible cooperation in the production of buses and agricultural machinery together with Iran.
Iranian Minister of Finance and Economy, Masud Karbasian, noted that Iran attaches special importance to expanding relations with Azerbaijan. The meeting of the state commission completed on March 14. -0-
