The public calls on the government to discuss at the UN level the problem of settling the occupied territories of Azerbaijan
The participants of the round table "Karabakh: questions of illegal settlement in the occupied territories" adopted an appeal, which called on the Azerbaijani government to take immediate measures to prevent further settlement of the occupied territories of the country by Armenia. The appeal consisting of four items demands:
1. taking into account low-quality report of two assessment missions of the OSCE Minsk Group of the situation on the settlement of the occupied territories from the monopoly MG and pass it on fact-finding mission of the UN General Assembly and in the subsequent discussion to bring the facts to the UN Security Council.
2. To initiate the creation of the evaluation mission in the framework of the Council of Europe, which could, along with the investigation of illegal settlement investigate the situation and establish a register of civil objects, houses, destroyed businesses.
3. To include in all the missions the representatives of Azerbaijan.
4. During contacts with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to focus attention on the issue of settlement of the occupied territories.
Participants of the round table, which was organized by the Thought Center noted that Armenia, despite the evaluation by the missions in 2005 and 2011 continues the policy of settling the occupied territories.
