Action of Family Members of Persons Involved in "Terter Case" (VIDEO)
Baku / 27.02.20 / Turan: Family members of those convicted of the Terter case and who died during the investigation tried to hold a rally in front of the Presidential Administration on Thursday.
They repeatedly complained about the biased investigation and the courts, and unjustified harassment of their family members. However, the protesters did not receive an answer to their appeals.
The police pushed the protesters away from the administration building, after which the protesters held a rally in the square named after M.F. Akhundov. They demanded the release of the convicts on justifiable grounds, the posthumous rehabilitation of the victims of the investigation, and the granting of the status of Martyr to them.
* On May 7, 2017, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the State Security Service, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a joint statement, reporting the detention of a group of military personnel and civilians for espionage in favor of the Armenian special services.
The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code. The detainees were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. However, it soon became known that during the investigation at least 8 suspects were killed as a result of torture. Later, four of the killed were acquitted, and the investigators who fabricated the charges against them received up to 7 years in prison. -06D-
