Arsen Baghdasaryan Faces 18 Years in Prison
Ganja Court of Grave Crimes presided over by Judge Elbek Allahverdiyev held a hearing on the case of the Armenian soldier Arsen Baghdasaryan, who crossed the front line in the Aghdam region on December 26, 2014.
According to Kapaz TV, the state prosecutor asked the court to sentence Baghdasaryan to imprisonment for 18 years.
The defendant's lawyer Ramiz Abdullayev asked the court for time to prepare his speech. The next meeting will be held on May 4 at 17:30 today.
* Baghdasaryan was arrested December 26, 2014 and declared a member of a subversive group. He was charged with several charges: preparation of intentional murder, sabotage, etc.
At the previous meeting, he did not deny the charges.
The Armenian side claims that Baghdasaryan is a deserter and he voluntarily appeared on the Azerbaijani side. -16D-
