Azerbaijan Citizen Robbed of $ 2.7 Million in Sheremetyevo
An incredibly daring armed robbery occurred in Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport this morning.
According to Life News, the robbery victim was 31-year-old Azerbaijani Zaur Gadimov, who flew with a large sum of money from Istanbul at 6:00 a.m.
In the parking lot of Terminal D, employees of a private security agency were waiting to meet Gadimov.
However, at 0700, a few people dressed in black camouflage and masks and armed with assault rifles handcuffed the guards and confiscated the bag of money from Gadimov, who had just come out of the building, said the press service of the Interior Ministry Department for Transport.
According to Life News, there were ten attackers. They presented their police certificates to the guards, who were waiting for the passenger, and demanded that the guards accompany them, seated them in a minivan and then took them away from the parking lot.
According to the descriptions from the witnesses, the number plate of the vehicle in which the criminals escaped, was identified.
According to robbery victim Zaur Gadimov, six people in camouflage uniforms and masks attacked him right near the exit of the terminal. Threatening him with guns, the criminals put him in a dark blue Sobol car, drove him off the airport grounds and grabbed the bag, which contained $ 2.7 million, and threw him out onto the road.
The origin of the stolen money and why it was transported in the form of cash has not been reported.
However, judging from the description, the robbers were employees of the security services. It is unlikely that common robbers would be able to walk through the airport with guns.
Nothing has been reported about Gadimov; his background is unclear and his business activities are unknown. A criminal origin of the money cannot be ruled out; such large amounts are generally transferred through banks.
Recently, a passenger from Bishkek with $ 1.6 million was robbed in the same terminal D of the Sheremetyevo airport. -02D-
