Baku in the list of hosts of Euro 2020 in football

Baku has been included in the list of 13 cities that will host matches of the European Football Championship 2020. This was announced today by UEFA during the official ceremony held in Geneva.

Baku will take three group matches and one quarter-final. Games will be held in the new Olympic stadium for 68,000 seats.

Besides Baku, three group matches and quarterfinals will be in Munich (Germany), St. Petersburg (Russia) and Rome (Italy).

Three group matches and one match of 1/8 will be in Copenhagen (Denmark), Bucharest (Romania), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Dublin (Ireland), Bilbao (Spain), Budapest (Hungary), Brussels (Belgium) and Glasgow (Scotland).

The semi-finals and the final game are entrusted to London (England).

All in all, hosting the games was claimed by 18 cities.

Note that this format of the European Championship in different cities was selected to mark the 60th anniversary of the execution of the date of the first continental championship. -06D--
