Bayram Mammadov told in court about torture (VIDEO)
Baku / 02.04.19 / Turan: On April 2, the Baku Court of Appeal considered a complaint against an administrative arrest for 30 days of the activist of the NİDA Movement, Bayram Mammadov.
He was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest on charges of insubordination to the police.
Today in the Court of Appeal, Mammadov denied the accusation and called it false.
In addition, he declared torture on him in the Binagadi detention center. There were traces of violence on his body. So, on the face were bruises, ear swollen.
According to Mammadov, he was put on his knees and beaten with fists and legs.
However, the court ignored the statement of Mammadov and dismissed the complaint.
Bayram Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov were detained after writing political slogans on the monument to Heydar Aliyev on May 10, 2016. Both were sentenced to 10 years in prison on a large-scale drug trafficking charge. Human rights organization Amnesty International recognized them as "prisoners of conscience." Both were pardoned on March 16 of this year.
