Huseyn Abdullayev asked for the participation of the representative of the embassy of Germany at the trial
Baku / 02.04.19 / Turan: Former businessperson and Deputy Huseyn Abdullayev, extradited to Azerbaijan from Turkey last year, today appeared before the Baku Military Court.
In the case, his mother, Zeinab Abdullayeva, who is under a non-exit subscription, also appeared as an accused.
The case is being considered by the Military Court, since among the seven defendants there are border guards.
The lawsuit was investigated under the Article "Illegal entrepreneurship", "fraud", "extortion by threats", "tax evasion", etc.
At the preparatory trial held today, the lawyer of Abdullayev and his mother petitioned for the termination of the criminal case; and if this is not done, to transfer the ex-deputy to house arrest.
Abdullayev himself stated that the charges were groundless.
He said that during a year when he is under the arrest he could not see or talk on the phone with members of his family.
Abdullayev asked to eliminate these restrictions.
However, Judge Habib Hasanov said that this issue is not within the jurisdiction of the court.
Abdullayev also asked to invite the representative of the Embassy of Germany to the court, as he had previously received political asylum in Germany.
The judge responded by saying that since the trial is open anyone can take part in it.
Lawyers for other detainees petitioned to transfer their clients to house arrest.
Petitions against the three defendants - Habib Ibrahimov, Zaur Guliyev and Parviz Kazimov were granted and they were released from custody in the courtroom. All three border guards.
According to the indictment, the lawsuit was launched on February 14, 2018 based on complaints from various persons.
The victims recognized 28 people.

** Huseyn Abdullayev emigrated from Azerbaijan in 2013 after a conflict with the authorities, and then a lawsuit was filed against him on tax charges.
On April 22, 2018, he was detained in Turkey, where he arrived from Germany, and was extradited to Azerbaijan.
Abdullayev was also charged under the Article 192.2.2 (illegal entrepreneurship with large income), 178.2.1 (fraud), 178.2.2, 178.2.4 (fraud), 182.2.1 (extortion by threats by prior agreement of persons), 182.2.2 (the same actions committed repeatedly) and 182.2.4 (the same actions committed with causing major damage to the victim).
On February 1, the mother of the accused, Zeinab Abdullayeva, appealed to President Ilham Aliyev to show humanism and mercy towards her son. She asked to take into account her old age and serious health problems of Abdullayev himself. -06D-
