Blockade of Nardaran Extended to Neighboring Villages
Starting on Friday, the blockade zone in Nardaran expanded to the neighboring settlements Bilgah and Mashtaga. The zones of the villages adjacent or close to Nardaran have also been taken control by the security forces.
At the entrance to the streets they exposed concrete blocks and created armed posts of the Interior Ministry’s rapid response regiment. They check passing cars and search their owners. The checkpoints operate around the clock. In fact, it is a state of emergency.
In Bilgah this area begins in the 8th lane that covers half of the dacha settlement.
In Nardaran the situation remains unchanged.
Thus, it became known from the local residents that several roadblocks with gunmen were set up. Not only the principal but also the secondary roads are blocked. Until now, there is no gas or electricity supply. Residents report on the authorities' plans to install smart meters that eliminate the unauthorized use of electricity and gas.
Tensions in the village do not subside, although specific incidents have not been recorded. The main reason is the authorities' intention to establish strict order and exclude enhancement of religious opposition, the main source of which is Nardaran today. -02B-
