Baku/15.04.17/Turan: The construction of a residential building in Yasamal district near the former "Hunters' House" on "Metbuat" avenue has been suspended. . The reason is that the construction company illegally completely destroyed the greenery in the area - 54 trees were felled. The information has been spread by the press service of the president. It is noted that the instruction on the termination of construction was given directly by the president.
The press service notes that on the information board located on the territory, it is said about the alleged construction of "Boyuk Plaza" - residential and shopping center. However, the construction company, violating the law, illegally destroyed the trees, using heavy equipment.
"This fact caused serious discontent among residents of nearby buildings. The president of the country showed sharp reaction to this lawlessness. He instructed to investigate this issue and take it under control, and to stop the construction," the report said.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources conducted an inspection of the territory, the construction company was fined for felling trees worth 130,000 manats. A criminal case was opened on the fact.
The press service quoted from the speech of the President of the country at a meeting of the Cabinet in April 2014 referring the cutting down the trees. At that meeting, the head of state said that deforestation of trees worried both the public and himself.
"This cannot be allowed. I think that we must apply for it an even higher responsibility. Felling of trees should be completely stopped. Only in rare cases, and then according to the conclusion of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the tree can be either transplanted or cut down," the head of state noted.
"They come at night and illegally cut down trees, level the surface for the construction of the house. It's shameless, it's a shame and a crime, "added the head of state, noting that more serious measures should be taken against those who cut down trees.
It should be noted that in 2015-16 the President personally participated in the opening a number of projects on the housing project "Island of Dreams" on the Zykh highway of the AzersunHoldinq Group of Companies, which was built on the site of a felled olive grove.
