Cancellations of Flights from Istanbul to Baku Proved to Be Exaggerated

The news on the withdrawal of flights from Istanbul to Baku has not been confirmed. In the Turk Hava Yollari office in Baku, Turan was reported that the January 6 departure from Istanbul was not canceled. Only one flight has been canceled - at 8:15 on January 7. All the other three flights on January 7 will be fulfilled.

Note that some of the media referred to the earlier message on the site Turk Hava Yollari that flights will be abolished on January 6-7. However, the company's website gives no information of the sort. In addition, in Istanbul there is good weather with +16 degrees, without rain or wind.

Daily from Istanbul to Baku and back fly several flights of Turk Hava Yollari, as well as state-owned Azerbaijan AZAL.

Bad weather also persists in the north-west of Azerbaijan, where it snows and there is ice on the roads. Still hampered is the traffic on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border. The most difficult situation is at the checkpoint Mazynchay between Balaken and Lagodekhi. The situation is better at the Sinig Korpu checkpoint.

Recall that thousands of people from Azerbaijan visit Georgia for the New Year's holidays. Many of them arrive in their cars.

According to the Georgian side, in 2015 the country was visited by 1.3 million tourists from Azerbaijan.

Also, a large number of tourists from Azerbaijan visit Turkey for the New Year. Some of them use aircraft and some others drive their cars through Georgia. -02B-
