Court Sent Interview by Gulu Maharramli for Examination
The Yasamal district court continued consideration of the claim of the chief of AZTV Arif Alishanov against the prominent journalist Gulu Maharramli.
The judge Azer Tagiyev granted the request of the lawyer Zaur Abbasov for the need for linguistic expertise of Maharramli’s remarks about Alishanov. This will let clarify whether the above was criticism or an insult.
In turn, Maharramli said he criticized Alishanov.
"If I say that someone has feudal thinking, how can it be considered an insult? There is nothing to check here," he said.
In the interview he talked about the Azerbaijani television history and the people in charge of this system. Only a small portion of the material concerned Alishanov. “How could such an interview be considered deliberate, far-fetched or biased?” Maharramli said.
However, the judge granted the plaintiff's application and sent the interview by Gulu Maharramli for a linguistic expertise.
The trial has been postponed indefinitely.
Recall that the lawsuit was filed in connection with the insult of honor and dignity. Alishanov asked the court to fine the journalist at 100 thousand manats. -05D-
