Defense: Soldier died of hemorrhagic vasculitis
The Ministry of Defense and the Military Prosecutor's Office denied media reports about the death of soldier Teyfur Beyov as a result of beatings.
In a joint statement they said that Teyfur Beyov on August 6 applied to the medical center of the unit, where he was diagnosed with sudden respiratory disease and given antipyretic medication. His temperature decreased, but after some time he became ill again and on the same day at 16.00 he was hospitalized.
Hospital doctors diagnosed a "mixed form (skin and kidney) of hemorrhagic vasculitis." Rapid increase in the disease was accompanied by severe renal and respiratory failure, third degree, as well as pulmonary and cardiac failure. The soldier was placed in intensive care, but the treatment did not work, and about 22.00 hours he died.
To clarify the causes of the death the soldier's body was delivered to the Forensic Medical Center of the Defense Ministry. There, with the participation of prosecutors an external and internal examination of the body was conducted and no signs of trauma or injuries were found. According to the initial version of the experts, the cause of Beyov’s death was the above-named disease.
The Military Prosecutor's Office of NAR started prosecution under Article 342.2 (negligent attitude to the service). Necessary investigations are carried out, the report said.
* Hemorrhagic vasculitis is an infectious disease. People can be infected with the disease in several ways: from poor quality food, insects, medicine, etc. As for the signs, they are basically manifested in the form of rash on the body and internal bleeding.
According to doctors, with proper treatment there would be favorable outcome of the disease.
In any case, the emergence of this infectious disease in the unit allows us to investigate the violation of sanitary regulations. If so, the disease could threaten other soldiers. -16D04-
