Displaced people are protesting in Qaraçuxur
On 7 February the IDPs held a protest of socio-economic nature in the village of Qaraçuxur. The protest was provoked due to bills for electricity, which were handed migrants from The Karabakh.
Each family was given bill to pay out 300 manat, said one of the protesters to the Radio Azadlyg, noting that in the absence of gas, they are forced to heat rooms and cook food on electricity.
Until December 1, 2016, refugees were exempted from payment for gas, electricity and water. Now these benefits have been replaced by a monthly allowance in the amount of 36 manats. This is clearly not enough to cover the costs, especially for those who live in dormitories, buildings captured in the early 90-ies of sanatoriums, pioneer camps and so on.
Protesters also demanded the provision of housing and resettlement from the emergency building. Local authorities, as always were promised that the complaint will be considered and measures will be taken. –0--
